After the treatment

Once we have reached the set objective, we begin the post-diet phase, an important moment during which everything that has been learned through the journey is put to test.

Nutrition is managed independently, but with the support of strong tools that help solidify the results in time.

PERSONALIZED GUIDELINES

At the end of treatment, during the last follow-up appointment, I give out personalized guidelines that help the patient in the autonomous managing of their diet.

These guidelines constitute a reliable reference point for consolidating the achieved results and consist of two complementary parts.

  • The meal plan, that offers practical advice on how to manage the daily menu, with listings of foods divided by categories, useful to prepare food autonomously.
  • “The Educational”, that deepens themes related to the choice, storage and preparation of food, including tips on how to manage convivial occasions.

MANTAINING RESULTS WITH THE NEW HABITS

Results can be mantained over time by adhering to the new eating habits: the guidelines represent a solid support and a reference to manage the diet autonomously.

Inside the Educational, apart from just usual food, foods eaten occasionally are taken into consideration, in order to give the patient a better and more realistic picture of the diet.

At the moment of the delivery of the guidelines, I give detailed explanations on their use and I point out those behaviours that, based on my experience, can put to risk the results obtained. In this way it is possible to know them in advance and intentionally avoid them.

BEING FOLLOWED UP IN THE POST-DIET

Thanks to the guidelines, the post-diet period can be managed easily. It is also possible to schedule control visits, in order to have additional support to solidify the results.

In these meet ups we assess the current situation, we evaluate physical parameters and eating behaviours and, if necessary, guidelines are reworked based on the evolution of the patient. The frequency of visits is decided together, in order to guarantee continuity and a personalized support.

THE ONLY MISTAKE TO AVOID

Based on my experience, there exists only one mistake that can compromise the results reached so far, but luckily it happens rarely. It is about the belief that, once the journey is over, results can. maintain themselves, regardless of our eating behaviours.

Those who think this way attribute to the diet a sort of “miracolous power”, therefore taking the risk of neglecting their daily diet management and erasing the benefits obtained.

From this idea, two wrong beliefs are born:

  • that there is a “diet that doesn’t make you regain weight”, a diet that lets one maintain results regardless of one’s own behaviour;
  • or, opposed to that, a “diet that makes you regain weight”, as if this regain is inevitable and separated from our choices.

These beliefs, even though providing the illusion of being free from personal responsibility, do not respect the real ways the human body works and end up giving space to the risk of erasure of the results obtained.

Instead, thanks to the knowledge gained during the journey, every person has the tools to mantain their results over time.
